Water and Sewer Services
The District of Muskoka is responsible for maintaining and operating water and wastewater services throughout the Township of Muskoka Lakes. The West division services the Town of Bala and the village of Port Carling. The District of Muskoka Engineering and Public Works department can assist with the following:

Public Drinking Water
We offer safe drinking water to all residents and visitors. A number of public taps are located throughout the Township. You can use them any time on a self-serve basis. Public taps are located at:
- Jaspen Park, Bala – 1005 Pine Ridge Rd., Bala (Seasonal)
- Windsor Park, Bala – 3040 Muskoka Rd. 169, Bala (Seasonal)
- Bala Community Centre – 1008 Maple Ave., Bala
- Township of Muskoka Lakes Municipal Office – 1 Bailey St., Port Carling
Public taps marked seasonal are only available from Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend.
Water Testing

If your residence uses municipal water and sewer services, the District of Muskoka is responsible for monitoring water quality. Water testing is performed regularly by an accredited private laboratory, as required by law. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit offers water testing kits for private wells. Water testing kits are available for pick up at the municipal office during regular office hours.
