Media Release - Road Washout - Dawson Road and Brackenrig Road

MUSKOKA LAKES, ON – Overnight, roads patrollers found a section of Muskoka Road 25 (Brackenrig Road) and Dawson Road washed out. It is suspected that a beaver dam gave way, releasing a significant amount of water, impacting, and damaging the road.

Township crews have completed temporary repairs in order to reopen Dawson Road however, Brackenrig Road remains closed.

Emergency road closure and detour signage has been stationed on both roads. Local traffic can still access/exit their properties but will not be able to cross the closed area.

Permanent repairs to Dawson Road will take place over the coming weeks.
