Daytime Burning Ban No Longer in Effect

MUSKOKA LAKES – The Township of Muskoka Lakes daytime burning ban is no longer in effect. October 31st marked the end of the fire danger rating season. However, if residents are having a daytime outdoor open air fire they are still responsible for adhering to the Township’s Burning By-law. The By-law speaks to size of fire permitted based on property zoning, materials that are permitted to be burned, proximity to other combustibles, and adequate means to extinguish the fire. For more information regarding the burning By-law, residents and contractors are encouraged to visit the Township’s website www.muskokalakes.ca for a complete list of burning requirements.
